Flowers of Menorca
During the spring Menorca becomes a floral paradise, with a spectacular range of Mediterranean plants and flowers on view.

The flora can be stunning, with fields completely covered in yellow Crown Daisies, purple Galactites thistles, White Asphodels and the spectacular red Italian Sainfoin. The fields and scrubland boast Field Gladiolus, four species of rock roses, Tree Spurge, along with a variety of orchids, including the Yellow Bee, Sawfly, Mirror and Small flowered Tongue Orchids. Violet Limodore also grows wild in the woods.

Menorcan and Balearic endemic plants include the small purple Ragwort, the weird Dragon's Mouth and spiney Socarrell, cushion communities that grow on the rocks along the northern coastline.

We recommend late April and May as the best months to visit the island if you want to see the Menorcan flowers at their best.
