Menorca Painting Holidays

Your Week With Us

Menorca Painting Holidays

Here is a sample schedule (from 2009) of what you can expect during your Menorca Painting Holiday.  We are currently investigating some new and inspirational painting sites for 2010, to improve your painting holiday experience still further.

Friday:  You will be met personally by Denise at the airport, taken to your accommodation and settled in.  In the evening there is a short informal welcome meeting, which will take place at around 8pm.

Saturday:  We will look to get away from the accommodation at around 9.30am.  Our first painting site is the 19th Century quarry of Santa Ponça.  Here, as with every day, Denise will give a short demonstration and tutorial before you begin your morning's painting.  Time allowing, we may move on to a second site, the delightful village of Es Migjorn Gran, before taking lunch at a family run restaurant in the village there.  Throughout your week with us, Denise is always on hand to help in any way that she can and offer tips.

Santa Ponça      Santa Ponça Quarry

Sunday:  Today we leave the accommodation at 9.30am and our painting takes place at the wonderful and unspoilt fishing village of Na Macaret on the north coast of Menorca.   Lunch is taken in "The Castle" restaurant half a mile away in the adjacent village of Addaia.  After lunch we visit a prehistoric Menorcan stone village, where Denise will demonstrate the "stick and ink" technique before setting you loose on your own.  All materials for this are provided.

Na Macaret      Talaiotic Village

Monday:  Today we leave at 9.30am and visit the historic Moorish village of Alcaufar on the south east coast of Menorca where we will spend the whole morning painting.  On route, we will drop in to a local art supplier should you need to top up with brushes, paints, pads, etc.  Lunch is taken at the fabulous "Casa Andres" restaurant in Son Bou, where we are served delicious tapas followed by wonderful fish or meat dishes.

Alcaufar      Alcaufar

Tuesday:  Today is a complete free day for you to enjoy as you wish.  Please feel free to ask us for any advice as to what you would like to do.

Wednesday:  Our penultimate day's painting will take place at the lighthouse of Favaritx on the east coast of Menorca before moving on to the charming coastal village of Es Grau.  This is also where we take lunch.  Because we take in two sites during the morning, we will look to leave slightly earlier at around 9am today.

Favaritx      Es Grau

Thursday:  Today we leave at 9.30am and go directly to Fornells harbour on the north coast of the island.  Here we find stunning coastal views, fishing boats and tiny fisherman's cottages all within a 2 minute walk of the village square.  Lunch is taken in a local's restaurant in the town of Alaior .  In the evening we will enjoy a last night critique and showing of our collective work.  This will also double up as an excuse for all to have a couple of glasses of wine and good time all round.

Fornells      Fornells Harbour

Friday:  Denise will return you personally to the airport in good time for your flight.  You will be advised of pick up time in advance.

To reserve your place or make an enquiry, just just the 'contact us' facility found on the left hand side of each page or call on the freephone numer above and we will be delighted to help.
